First One...

So here is my first blog!

I used to have a livejournal back in the day...and it always felt good to write out how I was feeling or exciting things that were going on in my life.
Last September (2009) I made a life changing choice to join Weight Watchers. I was feeling really depressed and uncomfortable in my own skin. I hated going out in public because I felt so fat. On the BMI scale...I was considered obese. My mom has been kind enough to pay for my WW subscription. It was around $40 a month. I owe her a huge thank you for supporting me through this journey!
My first week of WW I didn't really "track" anything I ate and I surely didn't calculate any of the points. I was feeling like WW wasn't going to work for me, and that I might just stop. So after a week I went to weigh in and the lady behind the counter told me I had lost 3.4 pounds. I was speechless! I thought "Wow, if I can lose 3 pounds without tracking or calculating...just think how much I could lose being on track!" So with that, I started to track and calculate everything I ate. My dad let us borrow his elliptical machine and I started working out 3-4 times a week.
On Wednesday, August 11th - I became a WW free Lifetime Member! That means...I hit my "goal" weight (a weight that is acceptable for my 5'5 height) and stayed under it for 6 weeks. It was also a special day because I reached 101.4 pounds LOST! I got to celebrate becoming a lifetime member and losing 100 pounds.
Now that I am a free member, I no longer have to pay to go to the weekly meetings and I only have to weigh in one a month. And I also need to stay under my goal weight. If I go over my goal weight by 2 pounds I have to start paying again.
I could have never done this without my awesome and amazing husband James! He has been so supportive and we've done this together. He has lost a little over 80 pounds and he looks AMAZING!! I love you babe!!
This whole experience has made me open my eyes and realize that life is pretty short...you only get one life, one body...you should enjoy it while you can!!
